Pitch One for Kid One

We have a promotion during baseball season each year with the Birmingham Barons called Pitch One for Kid One. At each Friday and Saturday home game with fireworks this season (16 total games), attendees will be asked to purchase a tennis ball for $1. After the game and before the fireworks show, patrons are asked to throw their tennis balls onto the field at targets in hopes of winning a prize. Volunteers are recruited to encourage those attending the games to purchase tennis balls. All the proceeds from the sale of tennis balls benefit Kid One Transport.

Directions for Volunteers: Before your shift, please come to the Kid One office to pick up your parking pass, volunteer t-shirt and ticket into the game. (3535 7th Ct. 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance
September 10, 2010 - September 12, 2010
MORE

On April 21, 2009 the President signed federal legislation that, for the first time, established the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks as a National Day of Service and Remembrance.

Honor the victims of 9/11 and those who rose to service in response to the attacks by encouraging your friends, family and coworkers to voluntarily perform at least one good deed, or another service activity on 9/11 each year. Help create a lasting and forward-looking legacy -- annually rekindling the spirit of service, tolerance, and compassion that unified America and the world in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.
